The Odessa Regional Medical Center Auxiliary was founded in June 1975 just as the hospital opened its doors as Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Since that time, the Auxiliary members have volunteered thousands of hours to help make patients’ visits to ORMC more comfortable. From registering patients to delivering flowers to patients’ room to popping popcorn, our Auxiliary members are a very important part of the ORMC family.
Would you like to be an Auxilian at Odessa Regional Medical Center?
If you are interested in helping those in need as well as meeting new people, then the ORMC Auxiliary is for you! We are looking for men and women who would like to provide a valuable service to our community by becoming members of our Auxiliary group. The commitment is small – only six hours per month and $5 annual dues. Everyone interested in joining the Auxiliary must also complete a background check, drug screening and tuberculosis screening before becoming a member. All members attend an annual orientation as well.
Auxiliary members work in the following areas:
- Patient Registration
- Surgery and Radiology Waiting Areas
- Information Desk
- Popcorn Sales
Volunteering at ORMC is not all work and no play. The Auxilians have events through the year to allow members to visit and get to know each other. The Auxiliary members are also invited to the annual ORMC Employee Picnic each May and the Holiday Party in December as well as any other special events the hospitals hosts.
