Odessa Regional Medical Center Unveils Digital Mammography
February 21, 2008 - The Odessa Regional Medical Center Breast Care Center is hosting an Open House today from 4 to 6 p.m. to allow patients and physicians to see its brand new state-of-the-art Digital Mammography System and to learn about its benefits. ORMC is the area’s first healthcare facility to introduce Digital Mammography.
According to recent studies, digital mammography, as compared to traditional screen film mammography, detects up to 28% more cancers in women 50 and younger and in women with dense breast tissue. And since there is no film to develop, exam times are shorter and follow-up tests are required less often.
