Odessa Regional Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Hosts Birthday Celebration

Odessa Regional Medical Center will host its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Birthday Party from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, May 16th in the Progressive Park, in front of ORMC on the corner of 7th and Tom Green Streets.
Hundreds of former patients and their proud parents are expected to attend this celebration to reunite with ORMC staff who provided care for them in the unit including NICU nursing staff, respiratory therapists and Dr. Sanjay Patel, ORMC’s NICU Medical Director.
“This event will be a wonderful reunion for all of our NICU staff and these families that we have helped,” Dr. Sanjay Patel said. “It’s great to see how these babies have grown and developed over the years after being so fragile in our unit as newborns.”
Activities will include jumpers and face painting along with clowns and local mascots. Birthday cake will be served to celebrate all of the former patients’ birthdays this year.
Odessa Regional Medical Center is a 230-bed full-service healthcare facility with 750 employees. ORMC’s Level III NICU opened in 1975 and has grown from a six-bed unit to a 33-bed unit over the last 34 years.
